BERRIN TAN

Berrin's connection to the maritime world began in her hometown of Izmir, a major port city on the Aegean coast.

She studied law in Türkiye and completed her mandatory legal internship at a law firm advising shipowners and charterers. She subsequently worked as a legal consultant for two years, focusing on contract and maritime law.

Inspired by a visit to Hamburg and its bustling port, Berrin moved to the city to pursue the Master of Law and Business (MLB) at Bucerius Law School. During her studies, she wrote her thesis on insurance-related issues in the supply chain and interned at the insurance department of a freight forwarding company in Hamburg.

Berrin joined Upwind Legal in 2024 as a paralegal, combining legal expertise with over 10 years of sailing experience.
